Directions for Use: Vaginal Creams

Vaginal creams are to be inserted into the vagina using a special applicator. Follow these simple steps:

		Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water. Clean the opening of the vagina and the surrounding area with mild soap and water. Gently wipe the cleaned area dry. Remove the applicator from its packaging. If the product comes in pre-filled applicators, skip the next steps.

If you have to prepare the applicator yourself, you may need to break the tube's seal using the cap. Attach the applicator to the opened tube (slip or screw it in place). Squeeze the tube until the applicator is filled with the desired amount. Remove the applicator from the tube and recap the tube.

Lie on your back with your knees bent and insert the cream-filled applicator in the vagina as far as it will comfortably go. Push the plunger to eject the cream. Remove the applicator. You can also spread a small amount of cream on your vulva. Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water.

Clean the applicator with soap and hot water after each use. Keep it in a clean, safe place. If using single-dose applicators, dispose of them after each dose.

Apply vaginal cream at bedtime to avoid leakage during the day. You can use a sanitary pad to protect your clothes, but do not use tampons during the treatment.
