Directions for Use: Twisthaler™

Certain drugs are formulated as powder and delivered by various types of inhaler devices. Dry powder inhalers deliver the drug to your lungs, helped by the force of your indrawn breath. Contrary to metered-dose inhalers, the Twisthaler™ contains no propellant gas. When using the Twisthaler™, please follow these directions:

Hold the inhaler upright, then unscrew and remove the cover. The dose is loaded as soon as the cover is raised and the dose counter is reduced by one. Keep the inhaler upright.

Turn your head away from the inhaler and exhale deeply. Place the mouthpiece between your teeth and close your lips around it. Do not chew the mouthpiece. Inhale forcefully and deeply. Hold your breath for 10 seconds, or longer if you can. Exhale slowly. You can use a dry cloth to wipe the mouthpiece, but never use water! Replace the cover until a click is heard before storing your inhaler, it's the only way to be sure the next dose is loaded.

If you need to take another dose of the same drug, wait at least 1 minute before taking it and do not forget to load the next dose.

If you drop the inhaler after loading a dose or if you breathe into it, you will lose the dose. If this happens, repeat the above steps.

It is normal for people not to taste or feel any medication when inhaling dry powder.

The Twisthaler™ inhaler is equipped with a dose counter. The number of remaining doses appears in the window and the cover locks when it shows "00".
