- Ovarian or breast cancer, history of hormono-dependent cancer in close relatives. The isoflavones contained in alfalfa are phytoestrogens and, consequently, can directly stimulate the growth of an estrogen-dependant tumour
Please note: Cases of recurrence of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) have been reported in subjects using alfalfa
